Alexis Moreno
Our Vice President of Service
Hi Everyone! I’m Alexis and a third year at California State University Long Beach. I'm originally from Modesto in NorCal and came to Long Beach for school. At long beach I major in speech language pathology and minor in psychology. In terms of CKI I am currently serving as your Vice President of Service. Last year I was family head (2017 – 2018) and had 20 family members and loved them all with my wife (co-family head) Alyson Brown

So What made you to decide to run for Vice President of Service?
I wanted to step up to a position in the club however, originally I was aiming for Appointed board instead of Executive board. But at the nomination meeting I was nominated for Vice President of Service by a friend. I was going to reject it but Kim Vo encouraged me to accept the nomination because nominations can be rejected later if needed. So I decided to keep it and started talking to various E-board members to see what it was like. After some thinking i decided to just go for it and here i am now.
Why did you join CKI in the first place?
It was a mix of when I was in high school I was active in doing service and when i came in from Modesto I didn't really know anyone in SoCal. So when club rush happened I went out to the service section of the clubs and saw the Circle K International table. There I was greeted by Aaron Delarosa where he tried to sell the club the best he can to me. I guess it worked because, here I am now in Circle K.
What is your memorable CKI event and why?
The most memorable definitely had to be the first service event I went to, the Disneyland Marathon. It started really early in the morning, like I didn’t even sleep for it because it was that early. But it was definitely a really cool experience, I still remember seeing the sun rise and getting to talk to a lot members in the club. And the funniest part of it all was that i originally went just for a free Disneyland ticket but got so much more out of it.
Why are there no seat belts on a bus?
Because the US education system wants to see us fail
